What is Water Baptism?

Baptism is an outward sign of an inward decision - it is your personal declaration that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior. The word “baptize” means “to immerse” - to go fully under water.

It represents:

  • Going under = your old life is buried
  • Coming up = you’re beginning a new life with Jesus

Baptism doesn’t save you. Jesus does. Baptism is a powerful way to share with others, what Jesus has done in your life.

“We were buried with Him through baptism... so we too may live a new life.” - Romans 6:4

Why be Baptized?

1. Jesus Modeled It

“When all the people were baptized, Jesus was baptized too.” - Luke 3:21

2. Jesus Commanded It

“Go and make disciples... baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.” - Matthew 28:19

3. It Shows Your Faith
Baptism is how you publicly say, “I belong to Jesus.”

4. It Symbolizes Change
You’re leaving behind your old ways and walking in new life.

“Repent and be baptized... for the forgiveness of your sins.” - Acts 2:38

Baptism doesn’t get you into heaven, it announces that you’re already following Jesus.

Who should be Baptized?

Anyone who has:

  • Believed in Jesus
  • Turned from their old life

If you’ve made this decision, you’re ready for baptism.

Baptism is not required to be saved - it’s a response of obedience and joy

How we Baptize

We baptize by full immersion in water, like Jesus was.
It’s a picture of death to the old life and rising into new life.

We baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Common Questions

I’ve been baptized before - do I need to again?
Can my child be baptized?
Can my baby be baptized?

Baptism is a joyful step - your way of saying:

My old life is gone. My new life in Jesus has begun.”
